Legacy IA Rochester Show Review from WGI Site

Legacy (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) (4th place: 63.70)

“Commitment” opens with a beautiful dance routine utilizing graceful partner-assisted somersaults flowing in one direction with dance leaps in the opposite direction forming a moving backdrop. The pace is decidedly changed by a brief but exciting full-ensemble flag performance featuring quick spins and high ensemble tosses using colorful purple pallette that add a huge splash of color against the cream-colored costumes and tan mat. A large sabre section performs with several high tosses that incorporate nice dance moves with leg kicks while the sabers are airborne and culminating with a huge ripple toss with one-handed catches. Pulsating rock music drives sabre and rifle exchanges that are accented with the flags’ guillotine passes over the heads of performers with airborne weapons. The entire ensemble finishes with several high tosses and spins in varying directions with bright magenta flags and feature several solo tosses and a final, fast-paced ripple toss across the entire guard.

Legacy Fundraiser

WGI REGIONAL – ROCHESTER, NY

Legacy Independent A will perform at the Rochester Regional on Saturday February 20th, 2010. There is an expectation at this point that Legacy will make the finals show.

There are seats available on the coach for Legacy supporters and WGI fans. The coach is a luxury vehicle supplied by the Great Canadian Coach Company. We are selling off the spare seats for $15 each. You will need a valid passport to travel with us. The coach will leave from Orchard Park Secondary School at 10:30 am. Finals will complete around 11:30pm. We should arrive home approximately 1:30am.

We will arrive at the Regional at approximately 1:00 pm and you will need to purchase a ticket. The prelims show will be in progress. The IA, SO, IO, SW, IW guards will still be waiting to perform at that time. Prelims will conclude at 5:15pm. There will be a break and the finals show will begin at 6:30pm.

If you wish to see the last half of prelims, you will need to purchase a combo ticket for $18 US. This will get you into the prelims show (already in progress) and the finals show. If you want to wait and just see the finals show, the ticket is $12 US.

Anyone interested, please email or call me. Seats will be issued on a first come first serve basis.

All proceeds will go towards Legacy’s trip to the Winter Guard International (WGI) Championships in Dayton Ohio April 7-10.

Sincerely,

Legacy Show Review from Troy WGI Regional

After competing in our first Regional of the Season, here is a mini review of our show from WGI!

Legacy (Ontario, Canada) (5th: 65.5) – Opening their show, Commitment, with an impressive flag feature and continuing on to a section that included all members spinning rifle, Legacy put on an energetic performance full of lifts and pairings. It was hard to believe that there were only 10 performers on the floor.
